MARKET SURVEILLANCE PROGRAMME 2014

Iceland participates fully in the Single market of Europe according to the provisions of the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA).

The Consumer Agency is according to the Act No 134/1995 on safety of products and market surveillance, the authority that shall coordinate general market surveillance in Iceland and promote cooperation of national market surveillance authorities in order to ensure efficiency of market surveillance of products found on the Icelandic market. The first NMSP of Iceland was elaborated and delivered to the EU Commission on 15 January 2010. At Annex to this document are found copies of the respective sectoral national programmes arranged by directives and the responsible market surveillance authorities according to the applicapble Icelandic legislation that transposes the EU directives.
